EXTERNAL WALL INSULATION

External wall insulation is whereby a system involving bonding and mechanically fixing Insulation Boards which are either Expanded polystyrene ( EPS ) or mineral wool to the external envelope of the building. A layer of basecoat material is coated over this with mesh reinforcing layer applied at this point. After this basecoat layer has fully cured.

INTERNAL WALL DRYLINING

Insulated Plasterboard is fitted to the inner surfaces of the external walls of the building. Building structure is normally hollow block walls or Solid block or stone construction. Depending on the type of building, the fixing system will be either mechanically fixed or Dot and Dab. The gypsum plasterboard can then be skimmed coated to give a smooth coat finish ready for redecoration.

CAVITY WALL INSULATION

Cavity wall Insulation involves the pumping of of a bead insulant into the cavity of the house using a specialist injection system. The bead is combined with a binding agent at time of pumping. Holes are drilled in a pre-determined pattern to suit layout of building from the outside. The bead is then injected in through the holes. When cavity is completely filled , the holes are made good to match the colour of existing render.

ATTIC INSULATION

Attic Insulation is the most cost effective energy upgrade to a property. It involves laying a layer of Insulation between and over ceiling joists in the attic space. Generally 300mm depth of loft Insulation will bring up the property to the current minimum u-value of 0.16W/m2 for ceiling insulation. Particular attention must be given to ensure adequate ventilation is provided into the roof space after this works.
